I provided a HIN
If you provided a HIN number, you will see your units in your CHESS-sponsored share brokerage account on the allotment date. You will receive a letter from CHESS that you can keep as a record (some brokers may send this electronically. It is best to check with them).
If you didn't provide a HIN, your holding will be administered at the share registry.
No HIN, but I already own units in this same fund
If you have an existing holding in this same ETF and you provided your SRN number, you'll receive either a letter or email, depending on your existing communication preferences with Link Market Services.
No HIN, and I don't already own units in this same fund
If you don't have an existing holding in this ETF you've applied for, you'll receive a letter by postal mail. It's typically sent the following business day after the allotment date. You should retain this record as it contains your SRN.
